Plan the day around one message, give everyone a role, and shoot every set in every format your channels need. One studio day can cover a month of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, website and ad content. At Content Factory Studios in Bow, East London, a full day is £500 for 8 hours, with lighting, props and every set included, and room for up to 12 people in Studio 1 or 20 in Studio 2.
Start with one message, not a list of channels
Teams that try to make “content for every channel” end up with a pile of unrelated clips. Decide the one thing your audience should believe after this month, then make every channel say it in its own format. One message, many cuts.
What it looks like when it works
The British Science Association filmed a series of “Meet…” profile videos with us, including a UX consultant at Microsoft and a head of project engineering at Urenco telling their career stories. One studio, one format, repeated across a series, so every episode feels part of the same campaign.
The cast and crew of foolish, a play at the Camden Fringe, used the studio for their launch: cast introductions, character reveals, behind-the-scenes clips and the trailer. One shoot fed weeks of countdown posts before opening night.
MAKE IT London ran a headshot day here with Lutch Media, so their community could update profiles in one go.
Map every channel before the day
Instagram feed and carousels: portraits, product, quote cards from interviews. Shoot 4:5 portrait; the grid now crops to 3:4, so keep subjects centred.
Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts: hooks, quick tips, behind-the-scenes. 9:16 vertical, filmed separately.
LinkedIn: team and leadership talking heads, culture. Square or 4:5, with captions.
Website: hero images, team page, case-study portraits. Landscape 16:9.
Ads: two or three variations of the same hook, in 9:16 and 4:5.
Give everyone a job
Small teams lose hours when everyone does everything. On the day:
Director: keeps the message and the shot list on track.
Producer: runs the schedule and moves people between sets.
Shooter: camera and sound.
Talent wrangler: preps whoever’s on camera next.
Everyone not on set can work from our communal area and kitchen, so the day doesn’t stop the rest of your work.
Our take: where team shoot days go wrong
Too many messages. In our view, a team day trying to say five things ends up saying none. One message, cut many ways.
Leadership filmed last. Talking heads get worse as the day goes on. We’d always film the people who hate being on camera first, while they’re fresh.
Nobody owns the schedule. The day slips one “quick extra shot” at a time. Give one person the clock.
No shooter on the team? We can arrange in-house photographers, videographers and lighting assistants. Just ask when you book.
Use the sets to make one day look like many
With five pre-lit sets in Studio 1, you can give each content type its own look: interviews on one set, product on another, social clips on a third. Moving between sets takes about 5 minutes because the lighting is already rigged. Viewers see variety; you only paid for one day.
