Most content studios in London charge £60–£100 an hour, usually with a 2 or 3-hour minimum. Half-day and full-day rates bring the hourly cost down. Video podcast studios with cameras and an operator cost more, often £100–£300 an hour.
At Content Factory Studios in Bow, East London, studio hire is £75 an hour (2-hour minimum), £275 for a half day (4 hours) and £500 for a full day (8 hours). Lighting, props and every set in your studio are included.
We run the studio, so this guide is based on what we see every week: who books, what they get done, and where people overspend.
What does a content studio cost per hour in London?
Typical prices for East London studios on the main booking platforms, October 2026:
Lifestyle or content studio (room, sets, basic lighting): £65–£80 an hour, 2–3 hour minimum
Full-day content studio hire: around £470–£600 a day
Video podcast studio, self-run: £50–£90 an hour, 1–2 hour minimum
Podcast studio with cameras and an operator: £100–£300 an hour
What affects the price?
Number of sets. A single backdrop gives you one look. A multi-set studio gives you several in one booking, so you need fewer bookings overall.
What’s included. Some studios charge extra for lights, stands and props. Check before you compare hourly rates.
Minimum booking. A £65/hr studio with a 3-hour minimum costs at least £195. A £75/hr studio with a 2-hour minimum costs £150.
Booking length. Half and full days cut the hourly rate. Our full day works out at £62.50 an hour, against £75 for hourly bookings.
Crew. A photographer, videographer or lighting assistant is usually extra.
Location and access. Central London costs more. 24-hour access and parking matter for early starts and late finishes.
VAT and platform fees. Some listings show prices before VAT, and booking through a marketplace can add a service fee.
Where people overspend: booking several studios for several looks
The most expensive way to make varied content is to hire a different studio for every look. We hear it all the time: people feel stuck with one backdrop, can’t test the look they want, and end up paying for two or three studios to get variety.
That’s why we built Studio 1 as five sets under one roof. You can try a look, see what works, and move to the next set without booking anywhere else. In practice it’s like paying a fraction of the price for several studios. Here’s how it works: Where Can I Find a Multi-Set Content Studio in London?
A real example: a founder who had just launched her own media agency booked Studio 1 for her first client’s summer clothing collection. With outfit changes between sets, she left with 12 finished pieces of content, photos and video, from a single booking.
Who books a content studio, and for what?
Around two thirds of our bookings (68%) come from creators. The other third (32%) are businesses: brands with products to shoot, agencies working for clients, and corporate teams.
Most are building something: launching a brand, growing sales for a client, or making the content that gets them seen across their channels. How much they get done depends on how well they plan, which is why the booking length below matters.
What’s included at Content Factory Studios?
Studio 1, our most booked studio: five pre-built, pre-lit sets: Stone Wash Archway, Rustic Wall, Classic Green French Wall, Living Room and Red Velvet. We redesign the sets twice a year, so regular clients get new looks.
Studio 2: a lifestyle studio with lots of natural light, for brands, headshots and e-commerce, with exposed brick and textured concrete backdrops.
Studio 3: an edge-to-edge white infinity cove with 3-phase power, high ceilings and full blackout.
Lighting: every set has rigged lighting designed for that set, plus Godox strobes, Aputure continuous lights, softboxes and C-stands, free with every booking.
The space around the studios: a communal area where creatives work and hang out, and where we host events, plus a kitchen with free coffee.
Extras: props, a clothing rail, a steamer and a hairdryer.
Access: open 24 hours, with limited free on-site parking. Bromley-by-Bow station is about a 5-minute walk.
What you bring: cameras, talent, wardrobe, products and a shot list.
How long should I book a content studio for?
2 hours (£150): a planned short-form session with one or two outfits.
Half day, 4 hours (£275): several looks, hair and make-up, photo and video.
Full day, 8 hours (£500): brand campaigns, product shoots, or batching a month of content.
When don’t you need a studio?
If you only need one simple talking-head video with good window light, home can work. A studio pays off when you need several looks, consistent lighting, privacy, or a space that looks professional on camera.
